guitar guitar lessons in little rock willie nelson blue eyes cryin in the rain diminished scale 30 seconds to mars MCR
Working out the solo to Willie Nelson's version of "Blue Eyes Cryin in the Rain" and I was pleasantly surprised to find a cool little diminished run at the end of the solo leading back to the A chord. I haven't heard that in a lot of country solos, but it is prevalent in jazz.
That's what I've always liked about Willie Nelson, his style is Country, but his influences include many other styles of music.
It just goes to show you that if you keep your ears open and your antenna up, you can pick up things from other genres of music and incorporate it into your own - which is how you start developing your own voice on your instrument.
So yes, all my teen students, there are other bands besides 30 seconds to Mars and MCR.
j/k - i like those groups too!
