You've probably heard of some of the bands he's been a part of...

John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers

The Yardbirds

Cream

If you've listened to the radio in, oh, the last 40 years, you've heard Eric Clapton.

What you may not have heard recently is that Eric established the Crossroads Centre, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center.

To bring in funding for the center, Eric auctioned off some of the most historic guitars of our time. One of the most famous, as well as the most expensive guitar in the world, Blackie, was auctioned for $959,500 big ones!!!

Now, since most of us cannot afford to buy such heavenly toys, many offered their support for this cause by attending the 2004 and 2007 Crossroads Guitar Festival.

One of my students attended this years concerts and reported it lived up to its hype. Great players and great music.

So, where does that put those of use that did not attend? Well, rest assured, both concerts are on video. I've got both and I could watch them over and over.

PBS also has some great online content for both concerts....

Ok, with that everyone, I'm officially announcing the start of our "Bring the next Crossroads Festival to Little Rock, Arkansas!"

Meetings will be held every Thursday at my place until we accomplish this most important task. I'll bring the cheese dip!!!
