You've heard of Steely Dan...Jeff-skunk-baxter-steely-dan-doobie-brothers

You've heard of the Doobie Brothers ... and probably the coolest ReRun quote of all...

 Which Doobie do you be?

You probably haven't heard of Ultimate Spinach - but if you have, you rock!

Well, one of the voices in all of those bands is Mr. Jeff Skunk Baxter, who turns 59 today (Happy Birthday).

Of course, my inquiring mind wants to know, "How did he get the nickname Skunk?"

I looked all over the web and could find nothing, nada, zilch, zero....

Does anyone out there know how he got his name?

What I did find was very interesting, this guy not only is a great guitar player and musician, he is also a counter-terrorism expert. This is no joke, check out this interview on MSNBC. Apparently, this is one sharp cat.

But back to guitar...

Here are a few links for Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan Tab. Enjoy!

the rumor is at a studio session in the very early 70's, JB showed up and removed his shoes before playing. His feet smelled....Skunk was born.
