Goal setting you ask, "don't I get enough of that at work"?
Well, you may, but this ain't about work ... it's about making yourself a better player. And after all, that is something you want to do, isn't it?
So, my challenge to everyone is to think of some of the coolest things you want to do as a player in 2008. Dream big, go wild, shoot for the stars, ( want more motivational quotes? You got 'em).
Just get your goals or ideas ready so that when I post the blog, you can get to work turning those goals into achievements!
Also, write them down. Mainly, so that you will remember them in a few days. But more importantly, so that you will improve your chances of accomplishing those goals.
According to a Harvard study on goal setting, having clear, written goals and a plan of attack will lead to greater success in reaching those goals.
So there you go, it's not just your crazy old guitar teacher telling you this, it's some pretty sharp folks up at Harvard as well!
