Songwriting Project - Catie Compton aka "C squared"

Subscribe to my feed! It’s free, easy to do and makes me happy!

So Catie comes into her lesson today, somewhat more excited than usual, and proceeds to put a CD in my hand.

"What's this", I ask...

"That is my baby", she says...

It turned out to be the first demo of Catie's new song.

Here's the rest of the story...

Catie has been taking bass lessons for several months now. She's been working a song idea in her head for several months but finally recorded the song this week.

For the backing track, she used Apple's GarageBand to enter the drum bass and string arrangement (don't worry, she will play the bass part on the final demo - I'll make sure of that!)

The lyrics were inspired by Emily Dickinson's poem " Heart, we will forget him"

I was so stoked about this that we are going to keep the project going and work the song until we have a fully finished masterpiece.

You can follow Catie's ... err ... C Squared's (as she likes to be called) progress over the next several weeks.

So, without further ado, here is the first take for "Heart, we will forget him"
