So here's the deal.....I recently wrote a piece about how to get booked for your first show.  In that piece, I told everyone to go and find ALL the open mic nights around, sign up and start playing.  After you play, meet the owners, talk a little shop, get booked.  It's that easy.  This is great advice (trust me, I know what I'm talkin' about), but then I thought to myself....
 
"Self, couldn't you help just a little bit more??"

Well, sure I can!!  So here's the skinny:  We're starting an regular open mic night program at Little Rock Jams.

During the first class, we'll decide on a song list for the open mic night. In the subsequent classes, I'll help you learn the songs, teach you live performance skills, how to handle hecklers (leave your wife at home, problem solved!) and most importantly, how to have fun playing for other people!  At the conclusion of the program, I'll join you on stage at a local open mic night and we'll perform together.   Basically, if you want to play at an open mic night....I'm here for you!!!


This program will be open to both students and non-students and will begin in May. Cost will be $45/mo and that will include all materials, weekly rehearsals and one live performance with yours truly.   Call me at the studio or email me at compton@littlerockjams.com and we'll work out practice and performance times.
