As mentioned a few days ago, Brady at Hunting the Muse, has posted his first installment on writing lyrics.
Here is a little snippet to whet your appetite ...
"Just like any poem or short story, lyrics have the power to take our imagination on a journey, to inform us, to put a question in our heads, and to soothe our souls or instigate inner turmoil. That said, writing lyrics isn't just for yuppies* looking to score a quick buck in the music industry."
* if you self identify as a yuppie looking to score a quick buck ... hey, no harm buddy - we're just goofin' that's all!
You can read the rest of the article here...
Our hope is that his readers (that includes you - you musicians out there reading this blog) will take a stab at it and submit some really cool lyrics ... from which we (that's you again - you musicians) will work on putting music to them.
If we reach a "finished product", we want to post it to both blogs to show how creativity can spark an idea and how a little work (writing and playing) turns the idea into something beautiful.
So, read Brady's posts on lyric writing, dig into the deepest wells of your inspirational material and put those words on paper.
