Bo Diddley Guitar Bo Diddley passed away today of heart failure at the age of 79.

Bo was an innovator in both his music, influencing early rock and the British Invasion sound of the 60's, and in his custom guitars.

In fact, when I was just starting out, he was the one that opened my eyes that there were guitar styles other than Strat, Les Paul and Acoustic.

He had some cool looking guitars.

However, more than his guitars, he was known as the father of the jungle beat, or hambone, as some have called it.

Dun-da-Dun-da-Dun -da- Dun Dun

Hold your mouth just right and say those syllables and you'll know the beat! LOL

Or better yet, check out these videos of Mr. Diddley doing what he did best, playing great R&B !!!

p.s. Dig the cool reverse pick slide in Road Runner -

Very nicely written, so many of the great blues stringers have left us, I can hear them up there with Jesus, Mary & Joseph, listening to their playing. As said in Six Strings Down.

Bo Diddley was as unique as the instruments he playeD!
